Ever since the tribes of Polynesia tattooed their
bodies as did the Picts, the aboriginal
tribes of Scotland, the skin of the
human body has acted as the canvas for body art. The urge to put body
art on show is strong, as is the desire to view it. For that reason, we

Last night I spent a good three to four hours on Facebook chat. I never get on that thing, but Jess was on and we started talking about conferences, which led to us to talking about ancient Egyptian mummification and tattooing practices and titles for papers and abstracts that have to be written and submitted. It was weird, because then we got on to the subject of food (Chinese, sweet potato fries, peanut butter and blueberry muffins) and the Tourettes Guy from YouTube. Oh, and I signed up for AmeriCorps around 2AM. I wonder how mom's going to feel about that. Plus, I've always wanted to join the PeaceCorps. Being stationed in Kenya would be awesome, because I would have people in Nairobi and not be completely alone. They don't have a program in Egypt- I checked. Uganda or Sudan would be alright too. I know how dangerous it is- I'm not afraid. I also am going to stay extra days in Egypt next summer to visit the local orphanages in Cairo and see what can be done and I really need to join Amnesty International. I think it's a going to be a good thing. Last night's conversation really made me think that I can do anything I want to. The way I talk about Egypt is going to go away. It's been manifesting for fifteen years; I don't think I could ever change that and I wouldn't want to. Dreams are important and if you don't follow them, then the regret of giving up will haunt you. Follow them, no matter how far away they seem or how hard you have to work to get them. Just do it.
