Pauline Savage was born in Raetihi, in 1954, a small town in the central North Island of New Zealand. She currently resides in Wanganui, which is on the coast not far from there. 

Pauline’s paintings are studies in abstract expressionism and within these recurring motifs of the human form, man-made structures and the New Zealand landscape are seen.  She often begins a painting from a simplified landscape and then applies the structure and paint layering that define her style and bring each piece to a visual balance and resolution. The work is unique with a spiritual quality that connects the viewer to the enjoyment of her art journey in each piece.

Pauline has won several awards and was an invited guest artist at the Sarjeant Art Gallery which is the art museum of Wanganui City. She has her own gallery located at 79 Ingestre St. in downtown Wanganui from where she works and sells. Pauline's works are held by private collectors both within New Zealand and internationally.
