This portrait was commissioned by the founder of Ariki Art. It features the founder and company mascot, Kiwi. Here is another example of a portrait done on a wooden kitchen cabinet door. The customer who commissioned this portrait had three strong symbolic reference points in mind for this composite portrait which was painted from three photographs. See the three photos that went to make up this painting.	This portrait is actually of McKenzie's Indonesian grandfather and Dutch grandmother. It was from this grandfather that McKenzie gained her passion for painting.	McKenzie painted this portrait of the customer's grandfather on a wooden kitchen cabinet door. By painting the outer edges of the cabinet in contrasting colors, the portrait is instantly framed.

In this portrait McKenzie not only captured the likeness of the young boy, but also the elements of his fantasy world.
