Los Angeles Film Festival 2009

The Los Angeles Film Festival kicks off this Thursday, Jun 18th, and runs through Sunday June 28th. The festival takes place in the Westwood Village. In the 11 days, more than 200 films will be shown, from 30 different countries. Included in the Westwood Village venues will be the open-air Ford Amphitheatre.

Also in the festival line-up are "coffee talks" which provide intimate converstations and free coffee with film-industry types to be held at the Westwood Hotel. And also at the Westwood Hotel will be "poolside chats" with industry-leaders to be held as the sun sets over the hotel pool, with the addition of cocktails.

The website for the festival is latimfest.com.

By the way, do you ever find it hard to identify the best films worth watching at home or at the theater? To help narrow the list of movies you spend you precious and limited time watching, OnlyMoviesWorthWatching keeps track of the movies that receive the coveted "Critic's Award" from the film reviewers of the LA Times.
