The Tree House at Kare
Kare Beach, West Auckland
When
it comes to a unique New Zealand vacation rental, little can surpass the
Treehouse at
Kare Kare Beach on the west side of Auckland's
Waitakere Range. This architecturally designed beach house was
built in 2004 and is nestled snuggly into the native New Zealand bush of the
beach where the 1993 movie
"The Piano"
was filmed. Owned by a native-born New Zealander
("Kiwi") who resides most of the year in the United States, the
Treehouse is available for rental through most of the year.
Perfectly suited for romantic get-away-from-it-all
holidays, the Treehouse is actually
two buildings joined by a wooden deck. The buildings include
superb architectural features such as back patio deck facing a
hillside covered in native New Zealand nikau
palms, a front deck cantilevered over the bush facing the Kare Kare
valley, and a totally private shower
with clear glass views into the native bush.

The Treehouse is fully-equipped for a live-in weekend or
several days, with fully-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities.
Professional maid service between rentals ensures that when you arrive the
Treehouse is clean and inviting.

Kare Kare beach is a mere 5 minute walk away through
native coastal flora and fauna, such as
flax, cabbage tree, and giant
pohutukawa ("Christmas Tree") that are covered with scarlet blooms at
Christmas time.
