My Auckland

Ku Bailey has lived her entire life in West Auckland. This quilt depicts the view of downtown Auckland from her vantage point in the Titirangi area West Auckland. Those familiar with Auckland will recognize several images of Auckland that are represented in the quilt: harbor life in "The City of Sails", the Auckland Harbour Bridge, Rangitoto Island, Devonport, Downtown Auckland dominated by the Sky Tower Casino, and the inner-city suburbs to the west of downtown.
