Fine art applique quilts have become a signature artwork for New Zealand Maori artist Ku Bailey. Many of her quilts feature the New Zealand Maori myths and legends. Her quilt depicting the Maori creation myth, Te Putake o te Ao, was a finalist in the Millennium Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas
