Emmanuel Carrère's witty, elegant "La Moustache" is a deliciously
unsettling, beautifully sustained enigma, a film of much beauty and flawless
performances, especially from Vincent Lindon in one of his most demanding
roles...Kevin

The movie begins as a satire, rolling inexorably forward — like the meatball
in the camp song — building steam, mass and weight until it completely
obliterates every bogus piety in its path. What's revealed in its wake is an
empathetic, humanistic vision that rejects, even in difficult, extreme
cases, the mob impulse to demonize.

Emperor penguins are documented during their treacherous journey hundreds of
miles across the Antarctic ice.
LA Times reviewer Kevin Crust writes:
"Luc Jacquet's gripping documentary, "March of the Penguins," packed with
more romance and nail-biting adventure than a summer of tent-pole movies,
chronicles the emperors' arduous journey in intimate detail that draws you
in emotionally to such an extent that you'll be shocked back to reality when
the end credits remind you that a crew of humans had to be present to
capture the drama."

LA Times reviewer Carina Chocano writes:
"As funny as it is wistful, "Me and You and Everyone We Know" is about
lonely people trying to connect with each other through love, art, the
Internet and whatever other means they can think of, and about the
increasing difficulty of doing so in a world full of barriers."

Mrs. Henderson Presents is the story of the unheralded Laura Henderson, a
widow who took it upon herself to buy the Palais de Luxe, a tiny cinema in
Great Windmill Street. With the help of Vivian Van Damm she creates the
legendary Windmill Theatre, a performance hall that was London's answer to
the Moulin Rouge - where women appeared naked on a London stage for the
first time. Deep down inside, Mrs. Henderson is still fueled by her tragic
past.
K. Asif's "Mughal-E-Azam" is a glittering icon of Indian cinema, nine years
in the making, 16 in the planning, that was released in 1960 amid much
fanfare and a rapturous reception.
Two boys who were sexually abused by their Little League coach take
different paths in coping with the experience. One suppresses his
memories with the belief that he was abducted by aliens, while the other
develops a tough skin and turns to turning tricks. Often humorous, the story
deals with the subject of sexual abuse in a novel manner, and concludes with
an unexpected twist. Well worth seeing if you can take such a tough
movie, but not for the kids.
