For so many people a large part of the fun of the Christmas holidays is being able to decorate.  Christmas trees, and Christmas decorations abound in a tradition that brings light, color, and cheer to the dark nights of the northern winter.  Falling right around the winter solstice, Christmas is the modern celebration of the age-old festivals that fell around the point when the sun reached its nadir in the southern sky.
