Early Works by Figurative Painter Bryce Brown
Bryce is archiving on his website images of his ealier works from 1999 through 2003. These images give us a great glimpse of where Bryce started out as a figurative painter. His early works, such as "Salvador - (He was at an odd angle when the good news came)" depict a cartoonish quality. This was about the time I met Bryce Brown in Tauranga, New Zealand, and he was starting out on a period of painting figures that were thick-limbed and naively represented.
