Early Works by Figurative Painter Bryce Brown

Bryce Brown 1999 painting titled SalvadorBryce is archiving on his website images of his ealier works from 1999 through 2003. These images give us a great glimpse of where Bryce started out as a figurative painter. His early works, such as "Salvador - (He was at an odd angle when the good news came)" depict a cartoonish quality. This was about the time I met Bryce Brown in Tauranga, New Zealand, and he was starting out on a period of painting figures that were thick-limbed and naively represented.
