Abstract Art / Samurai Dancing
Artist Juan Coronado
This abstract painting by Juan Coronado is
titled "Samurai Dancing". The painting is divided visually in half
horizontally and contains a central framed area in which a red figure is seen.
The red suggests the blood of a samurai's sword, or the swirling skirt of a
samurai warrior, or perhaps a liberal interpretation of the
Japanese kanji for samurai.

Like many of Juan
Coronado's abstract artworks, this painting has been built up using multiple
layers of paint with the sub-layers showing through and influencing the
color and hue of the top layer. The color palette consists of
golden-bronze, a range of greens, red, deep red-brown, and white.
This abstract painting
is also characterized as are many of Juan Coronado's paintings by the great
amount of texture in the paint work.
