Watercolor painter Abhilasha SinghIntroducing Watercolor Artist Abhilasha Singh

I was born in June 1975 in Lucknow, India. I am a self-taught watercolour artist.

I started painting at the age of 2, when I won my first painting competition. I developed a hobby for drawing cartoons while in school which grew into a serious pasttime. My love for colours and landscape was noticed by everyone in various local exhibitions and competitions I took part in as a child.

I especially like doing floral watercolours and still-life and take inspiration from the works of early 16th century European artists.

I have also been influenced by the Russian artists of St. Petersburg, a place close to my heart for its immense beauty and talent.

In 2000 I was approached by the British Fine Art Gallery to display my work on-line with them. I have been marketing my art work ever since and have met many artists and celebrities from various fields of the art and entertainment world through my work.

I have personally promoted my work extensively in India and the UK and have met with a tremendous response.

My clients have been from Spain, the UK, Italy, Russia and India. My artworks have also been displayed to aclaim in art exhibitions in the UK with many more exhibitions planned.

My most-recent exhibition was 'Perceptions of Woman' held from 25th-30th June 2007 daily at the Smithfield GalleryWest Smithfield, London EC1.
