Violin and Cello

Not just a violin and cello, but also an eight ball, an abandoned white stiletto-heel shoe, an ace of spades, a tattered musical score on a music stand that appears spider web-like, and a lamp that casts a gloomy light. The violin and cello have broken necks and appear almost to be melting away. Closer inspection of this blowup of the painting reveals the Ace of Spades, a known "death card" at the center of the painting. Perhaps there may have been a murder.
