It's quite a surprise to see the artist turn his attention from boats, fish, musicians, and frazzled divas to a church. The church is presented rather tumbled-down, but this is Kakulia's style. We see this also in his painting of a house by the sea. The church is painted in earth-tones and the image of Christ and a saint appear faintly above the arched entranceway.
