Paintings of fish, boats, and houses by the sea: I don't know any more about Vakhtang Kakulia's life story other than what he gave me in his biography, but you'd swear he grew up by the sea. But in fact he was born in Tbilisi and while the city is built on the banks of the Kura (Mtkvari) River, it appears to be rather land-locked from what I see and read at Wikipedia. Perhaps the lakes and rivers are abundant with fish? This is rather a handsome-looking painting of a fish. Once again you can see Kakulia's style of painting with warm earth tones and his technique of painting the whole using a patchwork or collage effect.
