This self-portrait by
Raymond Neher features the
artist as viewed through a keyhole or perhaps under a magnifying
glass. The shoulder-length hair and pink shirt would suggest the
portrait was painted in the 1970's. The back of the painting
indicates that it was painted in New York City, so that would
place it in the early 70s. The outer background of the painting
features a pale-blue sky and puffy white clouds. The large ring
featured in the painting was given to me in the months leading
up to Raymond Neher's death from cancer in 2004. |
