Nude Men at the Beach

A painting of 3 nude men playing at a beach by Raymond Neher.

At the time of Raymond Neher's death in 2004, several unfinished paintings were found rolled up in a closet. Perhaps these were the works he had in process at the time he abandoned figurative painting after having an exhibition reviewed unfavorably in the San Francisco press. This painting of three nude men playing at a beach was one of them, and could actually be a finished work. It is quite possible that that figure in the foreground is in fact Neher himself.
