Cowboy Art Print - Mule Rider and Guide Tony Alvis by McKenzie Birnie
This
painting of cowboy and mule pack rider and guide, Tony Alvis, was recently
completed by McKenzie Birnie
in memory of her friend who was killed in the La Conchita mudslide in
January 2005. Although McKenzie is intending to keep this piece in her
collection because of the personal nature of the subject, she is making this
work available in
limited edition giclee prints on either canvas or paper. |
Juan Coronado
has been extremely busy all year painting on commission. He currently
has so many commissions that it is not likely that we will be able to offer
any new originals by this up-and-coming artist from Irvine, CA for some
time. However, we are releasing two of his recent works as giclee prints.
One features the sun and
the moon in a bright and cheerful 'yin-yang' composition that he
completed for his mother. The other is of one of the works he recently
completed on commission, titled
Stormy
Sea II. The commissioner fell in love with Juan's piece "Stormy
Sea", but it had already been sold to a New Zealand art collector, but
Juan used it as inspiration for a new and much larger piece.

Max! The next exciting thing coming up in Max's life is the arrival of
his first child later this month. His wife is eagerly awaiting release
from carrying her baby in the summer heat of Southern California. |
Juan Coronado
had a very big turnout at the opening of his studio in the Artist Village in
Santa Ana on the first Saturday of July. Thank you to everyone who
came by to see his studio join in the celebrations.
Because of other commitments, Juan's studio won't be open for the Artist
Village Open House this Saturday, August 6th, but Jeane Coutts who also has
a studio in the Spurgeon Building will be at her studio to welcome visitors.
